Lieb and Richie Beirach used to come out to Arizona State University every couple of years back in the 1980s. Dave is a great educator and very positive and motivating for students: one time he listened to my combo perform and after we stopped he said, "The trumpet is killin', just killin'!" This autograph is from 1983, I believe.
